How this calculator works
Add each investment account, like a brokerage account, 401(k), or IRA, and enter the market value your statement or app shows, as often or as rarely as you like. If you update only some accounts, the others keep their last value. The chart shows your total over time, green where the market moved your portfolio up and red where it moved it down. Money you deposit or withdraw is entered separately so it is not counted as a gain or loss, which gives you an honest picture of how your investments performed.
Common questions
How often should I enter values?
As often as you like: monthly, quarterly, or whenever you check your statements. The chart spaces entries by date, so irregular updates still show an accurate picture.
Why enter money added or withdrawn?
Deposits and withdrawals change your balance without being market gains or losses. Entering them separately lets the tracker show how much your investments actually earned.
Is my account information safe?
Nothing is linked to your accounts and no login is needed. The values you type are saved only in your browser on your device and included in your backups.
