Add up what you own and what you owe, then record your net worth each month to watch it grow over time.
How this calculator works
Net worth is everything you own, like savings, retirement accounts, investments, your home, and your car, minus everything you owe, like your mortgage, loans, and credit card balances. It is the single best number for tracking your overall financial progress, because paying down debt raises it just as much as saving more. Update your numbers once a month or once a quarter and press Record to save a snapshot; the history table shows how much you have gained or lost since the last record. Use realistic values for homes and cars, such as a recent estimate minus the cost of selling.
Common questions
What counts toward net worth?
Everything you own, like cash, retirement accounts, investments, your home, and vehicles, minus everything you owe, like your mortgage, car loans, student loans, and credit card balances.
How often should I track my net worth?
Once a month or once a quarter is plenty. The trend over several years matters much more than any single month, since investments rise and fall.
Why not use an app that links my accounts?
Linked apps update automatically, but they need your bank logins and often charge a subscription or try to sell advisory services. This tracker takes a few minutes a month and never sees your accounts.
